How it works

From calm to real world

All training starts in a calm, low-distraction environment. Your trainer builds up distractions indoors, then moves outside to low distractions, and finishes with high distractions out in the real world.

You'll get updates and pictures throughout, so you can always check in on your dog's progress. When your dog comes home, your trainer teaches you everything they learned, so you can keep the training going.

What is a board and train program?

Your dog stays with a K9aholics trainer for two or three weeks of intensive, personalized training. Sessions build from a calm environment up to high-distraction, real-world settings, so the behavior holds when it matters.

Will I get updates?

Yes. You get updates and pictures throughout the program, so you always know how your dog is doing.

What happens when my dog comes home?

Your trainer runs a follow-up session to teach you the commands and how to keep training going. Local clients meet in person; clients who live further away get video sessions instead.

What can a board and train help with?

Obedience, leash pulling, jumping on people, chewing and unruly behavior, as well as anxiety and aggression. We can also work up to loose-leash and off-leash walking.

What training style do you use?

K9aholics sits in the middle of the training world: not purely compulsive, not purely motivational. The goal is simple: increase good behaviors and decrease bad ones.
